god guns and gays
My dad just told me that's how he just heard somebody describe the conservative agenda. I thought that was pretty clever. Just thought I'd share.
P.S. How amazing is technology? That phrase got from somebody's mouth to me, across the country, via text message, and as soon as I hit "publish" it'll be broadcast around the world. All within about 25 seconds of it first being uttered within my dad's earshot. That's pretty sweet.

And here I am ready it on the other side of the world in Australia!
That is Karl Rove's strategy that he developed in 2004 and pretty much sums up how they managed their FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt) message then.
I think it's safe to say that last night, Karl Rove's strategy finally hit a roadblock.
Don't be fooled - it will be back - the neo-cons will NEVER surrender.
Yes, the phrase I've heard for several years now, (and which appears to be the truth), is "God, Gays, Guns and Abortion". Real issues simply don't matter. The goal of politicians has been to play to the (hypocritical) conservatives who profess to value these things above all else and ride that wave to political success. They have been extremely successful at that, but their wave has crashed. Thankfully!
It's remarkable to me how issues such as those above , which can not be solved by government, are the issues the conservatives most desire for elected officials to have a strong position on. It doesn't matter to them whether their representative is competent, or what their position is on issues that really matter, and it CERTAINLY doesn't matter that they value and defend the law and the constitution, in fact that pesky little document seems as quaint and outdated to them as the Geneva Conventions and Habaeus Corpus. It's remarkable really.
The election yesterday will certainly not solve these problems in and of itself, but is a long awaited critical first step.
YIPEEEEEE!

I have been hearing that for a few years on MSNBC Hardball debates. Thatz been the election call for the Conservatives for a while.
For me the best part was Rick Santorum loosing in PA by 18%.
SG
yeah, the santorum defeat was great. but even better... was when his kids were crying on national telivision while he gave his concession speech.
awesome blog Matt. I have been a reader for a while and started my own blog too.

check it out. I will definitly keep reading
Hmmm, first time I have heard American politics refered to as clever!!
The phrase "Gods, guns and gays" is totally cliche. It's been around for years. Notably, Howard Dean used it while running his Presidential campaign into the ground in 2004.
