writer's block
I tried so hard to go back to regularly scheduled programming tonight, but I'm just tired. I'm tired of ranting about Prop 8. I'm tired of being angry at my friend. I'm tired of planning dates, even when they go well. Blah. I'm just tired.
So I'm just going to post a video that I'm sorry to say I find absolutely hilarious. She is clearly the sweetest person on Earth, as evidenced by her follow-up video where she explains what happened, so I feel bad laughing. But when I saw this last night I laughed so hard I almost vomited. And over 4 million people have watched it, so I'm not alone. Try to watch it with a friend. The reactions of the guys I was with just amplified my laughter.

I also get tired of staying angry,
but still, on important ussues you cannot just let it slip off your shoulders.
So I hope you don't wait too long before you do something about this so-called best-friend .

I severed ties with the local gay community center because they act hypocritical in my opinion. It's sad, because now I have to travel to meet gay friends,but still, it's worth it, in my opinion.
it's sometimes a good thing to let something important go for a little while. Lets' you decompress, put things in perspective. and sometimes re-energize yourself.
reflect a little on the progress that has already been made. through your own actions, and those of your mom, you can absolutely point to a significant number of prople who have changed their minds because of you.
change happens one person at a time.
so, when you've recharged, you can pick back up and focus on what you can do to help bring change, another person at a time.
last piece of advice - don't forget to thank those who have been there for you, supporting you. so, make sure your mom knows how she made you feel - or just spend a quiet few minutes with her to talk.

Hey Matt - time to "unblock" - we miss you!
Virtually every shrink and self help book around directs us to somehow let go of anger and frustration. It seems to me that letting go of anger often means lowering expectations and standards. For example, if you decide to forgive and lower your expectations of your long time best friend, what kind of friendship are you left with? One where he gets to disregard your point of view and patronize you?
When we give up anger it can really mean giving up on being a catalyst for change, giving up on making a difference, and accepting mediocrity.
